Il Corpo, 2024

Our planet has regions rich in natural resources. Such areas are typically opened up for the extraction of oil, gas, non-ferrous, rare, and precious metals. Factories and cities are built around these sites. When a deposit is exhausted, it is closed, but the factories continue to operate. They produce chemical products continuously, inevitably affecting the surrounding environment. This means that the vast areas around the factories, where people live, various animal species inhabit, and there are rivers, lakes, and forests, are exposed to the chemical effects of production. Acid rain, animal mutations, skin diseases, and respiratory illnesses are all considered normal. The body suffers, changes, and transmits distorted information to the cells of future generations. This is precisely what is described in the doctors' report we hear, but do these words provoke horror? Il Corpo is an attempt to reflect on a reality in which we have become numb to what is slowly killing us.
